SMS Authenticity Checks

As many of us may already know, SMS is plagued with numerous fraud vectors. Not only are users bombarded with unsolicited messages, but it's also widely acknowledged that roughly 30% to 40% of international SMS traffic is discarded and never reaches its intended recipient.

CodeB has developed a distinctive system for combating fraud, which enables network operators to not only identify the authenticity of an SMS received, but also to verify whether the message has successfully reached its intended destination. In this blog post, we'll delve into how CodeB's innovative fraud mitigation can be utilized from an Android Phone and why it's such a game-changer in the world of SMS security.

Incorporating CodeB's fraud mitigation system into your Android phone is a seamless process. You can easily install the app on your device by simply clicking the button at the end of this article.

After installation, you'll have access to a sleek and speedy SMS app that serves as an excellent alternative to your default messaging app. With its visually appealing design and efficient functionality, the CodeB SMS app is a great choice for those looking to upgrade their texting experience

To utilize the SMS Authenticity features the app has to be upgraded to the professional version. This requires a few manual steps as explained below:

  1. Confirm that the app has detected your mobile number correctly in the app settings. If your mobile number hasn't been detected, enter it manually.

  2. Send a SMS to yourself with a code supplied by us. This code is free of charge. Just contact us by email or SMS: +356 79 567 034.

  3. Restart the app. In the app settings, you'll see two new options called "CodeB Identity" and "Advanced Settings".

  4. In "CodeB Identity" you can keep the default server as "portal.codeb.io" or enter your carriers server. Now you need to "Store credentials" at the bottom - even if you left the default server as it is. You can leave the username and password fields empty for now.

  5. Go to "Advanced Settings" and enable all options.

  6. Restart the app again to re-initialize the background SMS service layer.

If the person you're messaging is using the CodeB SMS app, or if their mobile operator's SMS gateway is equipped with CodeB technology, you'll notice that any messages you send or receive will be displayed in green. This color-coded feature is a quick and easy way to confirm that your messages are being sent and received securely through the CodeB network. In this website content, we'll delve further into the benefits of using CodeB for your messaging needs and how this color-coded feature enhances your SMS security.
